“Songs I Feel Like Singing”
Throughout 2015, Bistro Award winner Tanya Moberly will be doing four different shows with four different musicians. This evening she returns with Mark Janas at the piano for her excellent program of theatre songs, starting with an adorable performance of Clark Gesner’s “Schroeder” and a surprisingly affecting rendition of Cole Porter’s “I Get a Kick out of You,” and continuing to such selections as Lional Bart’s “Where is Love?,” which she imbues with palpable longing, and an intense reading of Maltby and Shire’s “I Don’t Remember Christmas.” With a keen appreciation of character and context, each interpretation is solidly theatrical.
