Marnie Klar Sings Bobbie Gentry
Marnie Klar brings her tribute to Bobbie Gentry back for two more performances. In addition to having a grand time at this show, you will learn two things: (1) though the territory Gentry’s songs inhabit is decidedly rural, Gentry is a sophisticated and exceptionally skillful writer; (2) Marnie Klar has the talent and sensibilities to do justice to this rich body of work. Klar is joined on stage by musical director Steven Ray Watkins on piano, Dan Fabricatore on bass, and Don Kelly on drums; Tanya Moberly directed. Everyone concerned should be floating on air.
